Route 4: na Pòpia Lighthouse
itinerari
This is another linear route but with a length of 8.4 km, a duration of around 3 hours and a notable incline of 352 metres. Along this route you have the opportunity to see the cultivation areas of es Tancat, the centenary olive trees, and the characteristic vegetation that culminates on the rocks.
Hiking boots should be worn due to the rocky terrain, but the views offered by the destination of this route give the best panoramic view of the island and its strategic location in the Mediterranean. At the top are the ruins of the old na Pòpia lighthouse, one of the oldest in Mallorca, built on the old defence tower that gave it its etymology. It stopped working in 1910 when the Llebeig and Tramuntana lighthouses came into operation, and which still are today.
